WAMM is pleased to welcome

Sean McShea

Chief Executive Officer

Ryan Labs

at 6pm, March 11th, 2010 at the Lombardy Hotel in Washington.

Please join WAMM on Thursday March 11, 2010 at the Lombardy Hotel, 2019 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

Our featured speaker will be Sean McShea, CEO of Ryan Labs, who will present his outlook on the current asset allocation and attribution challenges facing pension funds and retirement infrastructure and offer his outlook on the investment grade corporate bond market.

We are honored to have Mr. McShea address us at this pivotal juncture. He will help us make sense of the pension fund industry trends and the bond market environment.

A number of challenges face pension fund sponsors, beneficiaries and their investment managers such as underfunding, rising contributions, compounding in reverse (negative leverage), maturing plans and longevity risk.  With that as background, it has become increasingly important to accurately measure liability costs and discount rates in order to select, attribute and measure performance leading to the right investment mix.

The market volatility over the last few years has only compounded the challenges for both private, public and Taft-Hartley pension funds. Ultimately, the economics and the appropriate time horizon should drive retirement plan decision-making.

Ryan Labs has long been a thought leader in the pension fund management and asset allocation arena, including their development of structured indices to assist in performance measurement.   Ryan Labs Asset Management offers actively managed fixed income vehicles through a diversified, disciplined, and structured investment process relative to popular market indexes as well as custom liability indexes.

Sean McShea joined Ryan Labs in 1993 and subsequently rose to the position of President in 2004.   Prior to taking on his current role, he spent time in asset management, research and indexes. Sean continues to develop liability driven investment solutions for the Insurance and Pension markets utilizing Ryan Labs investment grade fixed income capabilities.  He is a frequent speaker at financial seminars involving surplus optimization, asset allocation, custom indexes, performance attribution, and risk management.
