The U.S. equity markets are off to a stellar start through the first quarter of 2021. Challenges and uncertainties abound. These include the uptick in Treasury yields, inflationary trends, Biden administration’s fiscal and tax policy proposals, the Fed, and earnings outlook for the balance of the year and beyond. In sum, are the markets encountering headwinds or tailwinds? Which sectors should be the focus of investor attention?

Fortunately, this month’s speaker, Robert Robotti, can provide expert insights from a value perspective based on his long and successful track record. Robert Robotti is the Founder, President and Chief Investment Officer of Robotti & Company. Prior to forming Robotti & Company in 1983, Bob was a vice president and shareholder of Gabelli & Company, Inc. He worked in public accounting before coming to Wall Street. Some of Bob's areas of coverage include Special Situations, Energy Industry and Home Building. Bob is the principal of the managing member or general partner of several investment vehicles.
