As a wealth and investment management professional with more than 35 years of experience, Cary Greenspan has held various leadership roles within the industry. In his current role as Chief Investment Officer for United Bank Wealth and Investment Management, Cary establishes and guides the overall investment philosophy, strategy, risk tolerance and vision for all Personal, Trust and Institutional clients. In his role as the Chief Investment Officer, Cary chairs the Investment Committee and is responsible for the successful implementation of all investment initiatives within the bank’s footprint.

Prior to his current role, Cary was the National Director of Investments for Comerica Bank, a Dallas, Texas headquartered financial institution. Cary led and managed all investment related aspects of the Personal Wealth and Trust Management business and served on the Investment Policy Committee.

Prior to Comerica, Mr. Greenspan spent 11 years with PNC Bank. Mr. Greenspan served as the national managing director of investments for Hawthorn, PNC Family Wealth, which was dedicated to serving the needs of individuals and families with investable assets in excess of $20 million. Mr. Greenspan served on the Investment Policy Committee for the Asset Management Group responsible for over $175 billion in discretionary assets under management. He also served as the director of investments for PNC Wealth Management throughout the entire eastern region of the United States.

In addition, he served on the Investment Advisor Research Committee and the Derivatives Policy Committee. While in Hawthorn, Cary also chaired the Technical Analysis team and the Investment Review Committee. He was frequently quoted in national business publications for his keen insights into the current investment and economic environment.

Prior to PNC, Mr. Greenspan served as president of his own registered investment advisory firm, Cary W. Greenspan Investment Management, LLC, and he began his career as an investment broker with Kidder, Peabody and Company.

Cary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Northeastern University in Boston.

As a Chartered Market Technician (CMT), Mr. Greenspan is a past Board Member of the CMT Association and is a past member of the Washington Association of Money Managers.

Active in the community, Mr. Greenspan served on the Fairfax County, Virginia Park Authority and is a past Board Member and coach within the Great Falls, Virginia Little League baseball organization and the Lower Loudon County, Virginia Football League. He is also a past Advisory Board member for the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Cary also frequently contributes his time to guest lecturing in finance and investments at a variety of colleges and universities.
