Stefanie Miller
Managing Director
FiscalNote Markets

Stefanie leads the politics, trade, tobacco, and cannabis research coverage areas at FN Markets. For more than a decade Stefanie has covered regulatory risk to the economy, the financial markets, and to specific sectors therein. Most recently at Sandhill Strategy, which Stefanie co-founded with Katie Bays, Stefanie’s best-in-class research hit on a wide range of policy areas, including Washington’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S.-China trade war, and the Administration’s ban of flavored e-cigarettes.

Stefanie’s initial foray into political analysis for a Wall Street audience focused on Congressional passage of TARP, the Affordable Care Act, and Dodd-Frank, as well as Congress’s failed attempt at cap-and-trade policy in 2007-2010. Since then, Stef’s research has looked at Congressional tax reform and healthcare repeal efforts of 2017; ongoing Administration, Congressional, and state regulatory actions impacting the tobacco and cannabis sectors; and recent Congressional scrutiny of the Big Tech industry, among others. Stefanie appears frequently as a commentator on CNBC and Bloomberg TV and is quoted regularly in financial press.

She received her MBA from Georgetown University and her BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Nebraska.
