The COVID-19 driven economic and market environment and its aftermath have required uniquely aggressive fiscal and monetary policy responses. Fluctuations in volatility, weakened economic data, elevated unemployment and persistently low interest rates reflect this challenging environment. Investors and market participants are peaking around the corner and trying to understand evolving conditions today and as the movement restrictions and health risks diminish.
As the presidential event approaches, we have seen palpable and increased attention on policy and politics among investors and the markets. Add to that the COVID-19 driven economic and market environment and its aftermath, leading to new fiscal and monetary policy responses. Fluctuations in volatility, weakened economic data, elevated unemployment and persistently low interest rates reflect this challenging environment. Investors and market participants are looking around the corner and trying to understand evolving conditions with a focus on the effect of public policy. The election results can upend or at least revise market calculations and expectations.
To help us understand what this means for investors, we are fortunate to have an all-star panel of seasoned and well informed observers of the interaction of politics and markets, Isaac Boltansky, Director of Policy Research for Compass Point Research & Trading who has been well received in prior WAMM programs will moderate and lead the panel. Joining him will be Stefanie Miller, Managing Director at FiscalNote Markets; and Ed Mills, Managing Director and Washington Policy Director at Raymond James.
